The tournament, held to promote Kazakh ethno-games, featured 13 athletes with big arms and big shoulders. The giants participating in the "Tolagai" competition determined the strongest in such sports as lifting a 100-kilogram stone, sitting and standing with a 160-kilogram log on their back, dragging a 500-kilogram cart on the sand, and throwing a javelin at a distance.
The competition broke world and "Nomad" records. Baglan Myrzatai broke the "Nomad" record in the stone lifting competition, while Azamat Makulbekov broke the world record.
